CHEF FOR HIRE was founded in 1989 by award winning Chef and restaurant industry veteran Monty G Degenhardt. Monty spent the previous years traversing the country working for one of the largest restaurant companies at the time opening dozens of cutting edge restaurants and innovative hotel food service operations. Settling in Indianapolis, Monty started a special event catering company earning a reputation for excellent food and service.
In the early nineties, he determined there was a demand for better catered meals to child care centers. Soon he was providing FSSA compliant food services to dozens of facilities. By 1996 Monty was working with many of Indiana’s Area Agency’s on Aging. The AAA’s fed thousands daily but with costly and antiquated systems. Home Delivered Meals were created to meet this challenging and critical food service niche.
|General Manager Chef Jeff Scheck is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University with a degree in culinary arts. Jeff has had extensive experience in Hotels, Restaurants and Catering. He has been with Chef for Hire for 18 years and is committed to delivering high quality, nutritious, compliant meals to our customers.
||Manager James Bacon served in the United States Military working in large scale dining operations and has vocational food service training. He also has extensive experience in Casual Dining.
James is the newest addition to the Chef for Hire management team and has been with the company for 1 year.
|Manager George Haist has extensive experience in quick serve and casual dining food service operations. He is experienced in the logistics of delivery in Indianapolis and surrounding areas. George has been with Chef for hire for 10 years.
||Registered Dietician Christina Miller got her Masters Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Ball State University in 2015.Christina works closely with the meal program regulators to insure compliance and program reimbursement. She also has had success as a food service manager combining her skills. Christina is always happy to address any nutritional needs of CHEF FOR HIRE customers and clients.
