At Chef for Hire, delivering meals isn’t just about convenience—it’s about commitment. Some clients live in areas that are difficult to reach, but that doesn’t stop our team from making sure they receive the nourishment they need. In one case, a client lived so far off the beaten path that standard delivery vehicles couldn’t reach her home. Watch the interview and read the transcript below to see how our team goes the extra mile to make sure no one is left behind.

Chef for Hire team member delivering meals to a remote client

Deandra Miller Fajardo Interview Transcript:

We have a client—I can't remember what city she lives in—but she lives back, you know, where the pavement ends. All the mailboxes are up at the top, and you have to go off the pavement onto a dirt road. There are a few houses back there, and there's literally a sign that says, "Beware: Pavement Ends."

The city stops taking care of road maintenance there. When we tried delivering in our vans, they were sinking. Shipping couriers tried delivering, and they were sinking too.

So, our vice president of operations takes his truck down there and hand-delivers the meals each month. She didn’t have enough freezer space for a month's worth of meals, so we purchased a freezer and provided it for her. Since she lives in such a secluded area, it’s hard to get to—but she needs the meals, so we made it happen.
